Amelia Jeffs was murdered in an empty house in Portway facing West Ham Park in February 1890. The young girl had been missing for a few days from home. No arrest followed and the case was added to the annals of ‘undiscovered crimes’.
I have found 35 London newspaper reports of the murder case from 1890. They provide an account of the inquest, background, speculation and the search for the killer including suggestions of links to other similar cases of the period.
